The Acura RDX is a luxury SUV that unites interior comfort, high-performance engineering, and advanced digital technology. For 2023, the RDX is available in two trim levels: the A-SPEC and Platinum Elite A-SPEC. Learn more about how they compare, below.
Exhilarating Turbocharged Performance
Both trims in the 2023 Acura RDX lineup are based on the same powertrain, delivering an exceptional combination of power and control. At the heart of the engineering lies a 2.0L turbo gas engine that delivers 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, as well as a silky-smooth ten-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive as standard.
While the raw figures are impressive on their own, the powertrain’s many high-end components also deliver impeccable handling and responsiveness. The advanced all-wheel-drive system includes torque vectoring technology to distribute power between the front and rear axles, increasing grip when needed for acceleration or cornering and boosting efficiency at confident cruising speeds.
Next, four selectable driving modes refine the driving experience even further, with preset options for Normal, Comfort, Sport, and Snow. Choose the upper Platinum Elite A-SPEC trim and you'll also benefit from an active damper system in the suspension, which continuously adjusts the tuning for precise control when cornering, and offers a smoother, more comfortable ride height on the highway.
Luxurious Interior
Acura's reputation rests on the premium quality of its interiors, and the RDX lives up to expectations. Leather-trimmed Ultrasuede seating is standard on both trims, along with heating and ventilation in the front row. The higher trim adds heating to the back, and also extends the standard 12-way front seat adjustment to a 16-way system with side, lumbar, and thigh supports. Dual-zone climate control is installed in both trims, complete with an in-built air filtration system, and Platinum Elite also adds individual temperature control for the second row.
Advanced Infotainment and Technology
Both of the 2023 RDX trims feature nearly the same range of interior technology, with a 7.0-inch digital driver's display behind the wheel, backed up by a 10.2-inch infotainment screen. Standard features include in-built navigation, smartphone integration through wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. However, the Platinum Elite trim also adds a head-up display to project essential driving data onto the windshield, along with a surround-view camera system whose images are displayed on the console's infotainment screen.
Cutting-Edge Active Safety and Driver-Assist Features
To round off its impressive suite of technologies, the RDX also comes with an extensive range of active safety and driver-assist technologies, with key highlights on both trims including:
- Forward collision warnings
- Front and rear automatic emergency braking
- Lane departure warnings with lane keep assist
- Blind spot information system with rear cross-traffic monitoring
- Automatic traffic sign recognition
