As our country’s largest master-planned community builder—a distinction that takes a dedication to both artistry and innovation—Concord Pacific is responsible for transforming Vancouver’s skyline. The development company has created a multitude of residential and mixed-use buildings in its hometown of Vancouver, but also in far flung destinations like Calgary, Toronto, Seattle, and London, UK.
Each community is anchored by a thoughtful portfolio of services—restaurants, shops, and financial institutions—that makes them flourish as vibrant community hubs. Indeed, Concord Pacific has many accolades to its name, including building the second-largest master-planned community in Canada: Concord CityPlace in Toronto. Year after year, they are adding to their award-winning roster of 150+ completed buildings.
In the Beginning
Concord Pacific was founded in 1987 and tasked with developing the former Expo ‘86 lands in Downtown Vancouver’s False Creek area. Not-so-humble beginnings, when you think about it, and the company went on to win awards for its design and development prowess. Over the past 30 years, the Concord Group of Companies has continued expanding its reach and diversifying its offerings into sectors like software and information technology, telecommunications, and green energy projects in solar, wind, and hydroelectric power generation.
As an influential player in the community-building sector, Concord Pacific has also committed to automated smart building systems, which make its buildings more energy efficient. It has also been leading North America with its progressive EV parking infrastructure, and has been developing Concord Green Energy power projects to offset the energy usage of their buildings.
What's New
Whether you're interested in statement design, residential amenities, or energy efficiency, Concord Pacific is building at least a few projects that will catch your eye; here are a couple of noteworthy developments.
PIANO residential towers in Surrey, BC, are visible from miles away. With its poetic architecture, PIANO rises as two distinctly sculptural forms with elegantly curved lines. Inside, residents will be treated to Concord’s signature BioSpace design—a multi-layered system that creates cleaner and safer indoor spaces through improved airflow and contact management in high-traffic areas. Status: Preconstruction.
The Arc The stunning glass-bottomed swimming pool is perhaps the most iconic characteristic of The Arc, an opulent residence in downtown Vancouver. From the street, more than 200 feet below, pedestrians can crane their necks upwards to spot swimmers floating, high above. Status: Complete.
Oasis at Concord Brentwood Oasis is the second phase of the state-of-the-art new master-planned community, Brentwood. It will include access to incredible outdoor amenities like an entertainment lounge and pet spa, as well as a yoga lawn, running track, and a children’s playground. Status: Preconstruction.
Concord Metrotown Burnaby’s master-planned Concord Metrotown community is already popular. Seven towers will be built in four phases over mixed - use podiums to create vertical villages with terraces of commercial development surrounding highrise living. Here you can enjoy everything you need without leaving the community.
Sky Park is the first phase and the first release of West Tower & Central Tower sold out in record time. Now, the finale of Concord Metrotown’s Sky Park is now here: the Grand Tower is poised to be the tallest residential building in BC. Status: First phase under construction.
That’s all for now, but in our next issue of Dilawri Lifestyle, we’ll dive deeper into a couple of Concord’s exciting developments in the Lower Mainland.
